Job summary

St. Honoré Bakery is seeking friendly, reliable team members to greet guests and provide exceptional service in a Parisian-inspired setting. You will master the POS, craft coffee and drinks, and help plate and present our pastries and light bites with care.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, be 18+ and able to obtain Oregon Food Handlers and OLCC cards by day one, and bring customer service or barista experience. OLCC compliance and a positive attitude are a must.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and make them feel like regulars from first visit.
• Master the POS system to process transactions efficiently.
• Craft coffee, espresso, tea, and pour wine/beer for café guests.
• Plate pastries, salads, and sandwiches with care and presentation.
• Keep counter, coffee bar, and dining area clean and organized.
• Suggest menu items to guests and ensure pastry displays stay inviting.
• Ensure pastry cases stay full and appealing throughout the day.
• Collaborate with baking team to smooth handoff from oven to customer.

Your Daily Rhythms

You are the visage (face) of the bakery. Your day will be a blend of precision and charm:

• Greet every guest with genuine warmth, ensuring they feel like a regular from their first visit.
• Master the POS system to process transactions with accuracy and a je ne sais quoi that keeps the line moving smoothly.
• Craft beautiful coffee, espresso, and tea drinks, while also pouring wine and beer for our café guests.
• Artfully plate pastries, salads, and sandwiches, ensuring every dish looks as good as it tastes.
• Maintain the "stage" by keeping the counter, coffee bar, and dining area impeccably clean and organized.
• Act as a local guide for our menu, offering thoughtful suggestions to guests looking to try something new.
• Ensure our pastry cases stay full and looking like a work of art throughout the day.
• Collaborate with the baking team to ensure a seamless flow from the oven to the customer’s hand.

What You Bring to the Table

• A high school diploma and a history of being reliable and predictable—our neighbors count on you!
• Previous experience in customer service or as a barista is a huge plus, but a positive attitude is non-negotiable.
• Must be 18+ (per OLCC) and able to obtain your Oregon Food Handlers and OLCC cards by your first day.
• The physical stamina to stay on your feet, move with grace in a busy kitchen, and lift up to 20 lbs.
