A Guest Services Agent is responsible for greeting and registering guests and checking guests out of the hotel, in the hotel's ongoing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and ensure financial profitability.

What will I be doing?

As a Guest Services Agent, your responsibilities include:

  • Greeting guests, completing the registration process, inputting and retrieving information from the computer, confirming guest details and room rates, selecting rooms, coding electronic keys, promoting marketing programs, providing welcome packets, and guiding guests to their rooms.
  • Assisting guests with check-out, ensuring rooms and services are correctly billed, handling payments via the point-of-sale system, processing credit and debit cards, accepting various payment methods, converting foreign currencies, making change, and processing gift certificates and cards.
  • Demonstrating thorough knowledge of hotel information, including room categories, rates, packages, promotions, local area, and general hotel services, and answering guest inquiries.
  • Using up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and maximize room occupancy.
  • Responding to guest inquiries and requests promptly and courteously.
  • Handling guest complaints, conducting research, resolving issues, and negotiating solutions for guest satisfaction.
  • Receiving, inputting, retrieving, and relaying messages to guests.
