Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members, and brand integrity in a fast-paced store environment. You will engage with guests, assist coworkers, and uphold safety standards while supporting loss prevention initiatives.

The role emphasizes de-escalation, incident documentation, and collaboration with Assets Protection. Training is provided, and the job may involve nights, weekends, and holidays based on store needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on commitments: greet guests, help them find what they need and end with a sincere thank you.
• Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards storewide.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Leverage de-escalation tactics and resources when responding to incidents.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed.
• Submit documentation in the case management system following AP policies.
