Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Rooms Controller Agent in Lahaina, Hawaii to optimize guest room inventory and support front desk operations. You will block VIPs, manage Out of Order/Out of Service rooms, handle guest requests, and coordinate with Sales, Housekeeping, and Engineering to ensure smooth group arrivals and upgrades.

The role focuses on accuracy, guest satisfaction, and efficient shift execution, with emphasis on room availability and inventory control across the front desk team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel or a related field required.
• Experience with Opera required.
• Customer Services experience required.
• Computer experience required.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College course work in related field helpful.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls professionally and courteously.
• Assist callers with needs and requests without transferring whenever possible.
• Monitor and manage hotel Room Type inventory, communicating concerns and identifying solutions.
• Answer guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities and hours of operation in a timely manner.
• Run and complete credit limit report daily.
• Review Guest Arrivals and Trace File daily, following through on guest requests and preferences.
• Be aware of all rates, packages and special promotions.
• Balance and prepare individual paperwork for closing of shift according to hotel standards.
• Balance and prepare closing of shift paperwork as per standards.
