Job summary

Sage Restaurant Group is seeking a full-time housekeeper at The Alexandrian in Alexandria, VA. The role involves cleaning guest rooms, restocking amenities, and maintaining a sanitary and welcoming hotel environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning rooms and public areas, replenishing supplies, and reporting maintenance issues. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with a starting wage around $17 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies, maintaining carts and storerooms.
• Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways to maintain a clean and presentable facility.
• Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocks literature for arriving guests.
• Washes all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.
• Dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures and wall hangings, including vents and ceiling corners.
• Strips bed of all linen and remakes with fresh, checking bedspread, blankets and bed pads for cleanliness.
