Job summary

Potbelly Corporate is seeking a friendly Team Member for our Grand Rapids location. This part-time role supports fast-paced restaurant operations, delivering quick, friendly service and a quality product in a clean, inviting environment.

You will work across stations, help with food prep and customer interactions, and contribute to a positive guest experience. Competitive pay, medical/dental/vision, and a range of benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset for fast-paced settings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable in a bustling kitchen environment (knife skills a plus).
• Able to manage allergens (peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish).
• Team player who can stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lb.
• Illinois-specific food safety certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed.
• Maintain health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare quality sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc., efficiently.
• If 18+, use the slicer to prep food items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register and balance cash handling procedures.
• Address customer complaints/issues effectively.
• Take delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
