Job summary

Rosewood Hotel Group in Hawaii seeks a friendly, eager-to-learn Food & Beverage team member to deliver Rosewood Relationship Hospitality to guests with the Aloha spirit. You will work closely with the F&B team to uphold high-end standards, guest satisfaction, and flawless service across shifts.

Requirements include 6–12 months in hotel F&B or upscale restaurant, English fluency, a High School Diploma, and the ability to work at least two days a week.

Qualifications

• 6 to 12 months experience in Hotel Food and Beverage operations or freestanding restaurant
• Background in upscale free-standing restaurant or Food & Beverage operations preferred
• Familiarization with Forbes standards is preferred
• Beverage knowledge is preferred
• Fluent spoken and written in English
• High School Diploma
• Provide a minimum of 2 days of availability each week

Responsibilities

• Ensures the delivery of Rosewood Relationship Hospitality and provides exceptional and memorable guest service.
• Ability to effectively interact with individuals or small groups of people
• Efficiently delivers an engaging refined and intuitive high standard of service with the respect of the Hawaiian culture and tradition
• Provides excellent service to internal customers in other departments as appropriate
• Handles all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner
• Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships
• Establishes a rapport with guests maintaining good customer relationships.
• Ensures that Rosewood standards are implemented and followed.
• Ensures that all the Food and Beverage Sequence of Service are implemented.
• Carry out the service to the highest professional standards in a genuine and intuitive manner.
• Basic knowledge of wine and liquor, including wine service techniques
• Works closely with other Outlet associates in a supportive and flexible manner
• Effectively manages guest demands with dining room.
• Gathers and records guest preferences
• Works in a supportive and flexible manner with other departments, as one team.
• Maintains par stocks of all equipment and guest supplies as required.
• Seats, takes orders and serves food and beverage to guest according to the established sequence and procedures.
• Presents menu, answers enquiries and makes suggestions regarding food, beverage and service to restaurant guests.
• Clears and resets counters or tables at conclusion of each course.
• Fully conversant with all aspects of the Micros System.
• Computes bill and accepts payment
• Performs the function of cashier as required.
• Verifies cash received ensuring only genuine money been collected.
• Verifies all credit cards presented by guest before to validity of the card.
• Strictly adheres to all policies and procedures issued by the Finance with regard to cashiering and cash handling.
• Has a thorough knowledge and understanding of all food and beverage items in the menu and the ability to recommend Food and Beverage combinations and up sell alternatives based on preference, on dietary restriction, etc.
• Understands and strictly adheres to rules and regulations established in the associate handbook and the Hotel’s policies concerning fire, hygiene and health and safety.
• Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
• Responds to changes in the Food and Beverage function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
• Attends training sessions as and when required.
• Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
