Job summary

San Diego Marriott Del Mar is seeking a Barista / Coffee Shop Attendant to welcome guests and prepare specialty coffee drinks while delivering outstanding service. You will help merchandise displays, maintain shop cleanliness, and assist with opening/closing procedures in a fast-paced hotel café environment.

The role emphasizes accuracy in cash handling, familiarity with Micros POS, and proactive inventory support.

Qualifications

3–6 months of related café or barista experience preferred.
Retail and/or customer service experience preferred.
Experience with cash handling and point-of-sale systems a plus.

Responsibilities

Greet guests and provide information about available food, beverages, merchandise, and hotel amenities.
Prepare specialty coffee drinks following established recipes and operate coffee shop equipment safely and correctly.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the coffee shop, including equipment, displays, and floors, according to SOPs.
Restock and refresh merchandise and food displays to ensure an inviting presentation.
Open and close the coffee shop on time, following proper setup and closing procedures.
Process all sales through the Micros system, ensuring accurate cash handling and adherence to accounting procedures.
Monitor inventory levels, communicate restocking needs, and assist management with ordering.
Secure all cash and deposits per hotel and company policies.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and service standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
