Job summary

HomeState is a Tex Mex Kitchen in Southern California. We serve tacos, queso, brisket, and margaritas, but more than that, we serve each other. We provide everyone with warm hospitality that makes them feel at home. No matter where you’re from.

Everything we do – from how we greet each other to how we show up in our communities – is rooted in that belief. We serve hospitality first, tacos second. Pay starts at base $18.75/hr with tip share bringing total to $24–$28/hr.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in the restaurant industry with guest-facing roles preferred.
• Personable and enjoys working with people and a diverse team.
• Availability to work weekends, day shifts and evening shifts.
• Passion for food & hospitality.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification Card (or be able to take a company provided course within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Guest focus: Welcome guests, guide menu, ensure order accuracy, and communicate allergies with care.
• Action oriented: take initiative to fulfill duties and assist with shift tasks.
• Resilient: calmly troubleshoot issues to keep operations running smoothly.
• Collaborative: work with team to support daily tasks and training.
• Standards: follow HomeState sanitation and service standards and keep areas clean.
• Ambassador: maintain regular attendance and show up prepared for shifts.
