Job summary

RaceTrac, Inc. is seeking a Store Associate to join our team. You’ll help keep stores clean, stocked, and running smoothly while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

The role offers part-time flexibility or a full-time career path and provides hands-on training in a fast-paced store environment. You’ll be responsible for friendly service at the register or self-checkout, stocking, inventory, and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or in progress).
• Previous experience in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment is a plus.
• A team player who takes the initiative and enjoys working with people.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks like bending and standing.
• May be required to obtain and maintain food handler or alcohol server permits, depending on state/local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and teammates with a smile, responding promptly and courteously to both.
• Respond promptly and respectfully to management directions, and be flexible across all store areas.
• Prepare, handle, and serve food safely, maintain clean and organized prep areas, and follow food safety regulations.
• Clean all areas of the store and follow safety protocols when handling chemicals.
• Ensure shelves are stocked and backrooms/coolers are clean and organized.
• Operate the cash register accurately, handle transactions, and provide excellent guest service.
• Be the first point of contact for guest concerns and escalate to the shift manager when needed.
• Meet guest transaction expectations by managing lines and clear communication.
• Follow all RaceTrac policies and safety regulations.
• Inform guests about promotional items to drive engagement.
• Be a reliable team player and arrive on time, supporting teammates.
• Engage with guests and teammates politely and respectfully.
