Job summary

Galt House Hotel in Louisville, KY is seeking a friendly server to deliver exceptional dining experiences in our restaurant. You will take orders, present menus, and ensure guest satisfaction with attentive, timely service.

You will handle payments at the POS, communicate dietary needs to the kitchen, maintain table appearance, and support team members while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Fluent English required.
• Basic math and cash handling skills.
• Able to upsell menu items and beverages.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive, consistent service that exceeds guest expectations.
• Take food and beverage orders using suggestive selling techniques.
• Convey special requests or allergies to the kitchen accurately.
• Establish rapport with guests to build loyal customers.
• Input orders into POS and verify with the kitchen.
• Clear and reset tables promptly after guests depart.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items and wine list.
• Follow safety, health, and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist Steward/Busser as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
