Job summary

Corner Burger is seeking an experienced cashier to greet guests, take orders, and manage payments with accuracy. You will enter orders into Square, handle cash and cards, and ensure all dine-in, takeout, and delivery orders are processed smoothly.

Maintain a clean dining room, assist the kitchen during peak times, and provide friendly service to encourage repeat visits. Restaurant or fast-casual experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, fast-casual, cashier, or customer-service experience preferred.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Ability to learn and accurately operate a POS system.
• Basic cash-handling and math skills.
• Ability to follow recipes and preparation instructions for shakes and desserts.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
• Ability to multitask and remain friendly and professional during busy periods.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Greet every guest in a friendly and professional manner.
• Provide knowledgeable assistance with menu items, specials, and customer questions.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Provide attentive and courteous service throughout the guest’s visit.
• Check on dining room guests and assist with additional needs when appropriate.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and involve management when necessary.
• Thank guests and help create an experience that encourages them to return.
• Accurately enter customer orders into the Square POS system.
• Process cash, credit card, and other approved forms of payment.
• Maintain accuracy when handling cash and completing transactions.
• Ensure orders are entered correctly, including modifications and special requests.
• Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure orders are delivered accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with takeout and third-party delivery orders as assigned.
• Prepare milkshakes, specialty shakes, and dessert items according to Corner Burger recipes and presentation standards.
• Follow established portion and build standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of shake and dessert equipment.
• Keep shake and dessert stations properly stocked throughout the shift.
• Monitor ingredients and notify management when products need to be restocked.
• Maintain a clean dining room throughout the entire shift, not just at opening and closing.
• Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, counters, and other guest areas.
• Regularly check and clean beverage and drink stations.
• Restock cups, lids, straws, napkins, condiments, utensils, ice, and other supplies.
• Sweep and spot-clean floors as needed.
• Empty trash before receptacles become overly full.
• Keep entryways, counters, and other guest-facing areas clean and presentable.
• Ensure the restaurant remains welcoming and ready for guests throughout service.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized cashier and service workspace.
• Complete assigned opening, shift-change, and closing responsibilities.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work surfaces according to restaurant procedures.
• Restock Front of House supplies before leaving a shift.
• Assist with general restaurant cleaning as assigned.
• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and personal-hygiene requirements.
• Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and ready to work for every scheduled shift.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen employees, fellow FOH employees, and management.
• Work with a sense of urgency during high-volume periods.
• Assist teammates when another station needs support.
• Follow direction from the General Manager and designated restaurant leadership.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude with guests and coworkers.
