Job summary

Join Eataly in New York as a Host, the initial and final touchpoint for guests. You will greet, seat, and bid farewell while ensuring smooth dining room operations during service. You will manage seating, handle walk-ins and reservations, and coordinate with servers to balance guest flow.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in a high-volume restaurant, strong communication, and basic computer skills. Availability to work onsite with flexible evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a high-volume restaurant.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets and seats guests and maintains dining room flow during service.
• Maintains accurate, up-to-date waitlist and seating chart using a computerized system.
• Takes and manages reservations where applicable.
• Balances guest flow among service stations based on availability and requests.
• Informs guests when tables are ready, escorts to table, provides menus and introduces the server.
• Assists with duties of servers and bussers to maintain service effectiveness.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
