Job summary

Hai Hospitality, the multi-concept group behind Uchi, Uchiko and Uchiba, is seeking Hosts in Florida. In this role you will manage reservations and walk-ins, set guest expectations and provide cocktail service for guests waiting for their table, creating memorable experiences.

You will learn about sake and beverages, coordinate with the team for smooth table turns, and help guests feel welcome from arrival to seating.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.
• Detect safety issues and follow safety guidelines and standards.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and restock inventory.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Able to work in varying temperatures, hot and cold.
• Able to move tables and chairs to reconfigure seating.
• Maintain a neat workspace and proper grooming.
• Understand directives and communicate with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Acquaint yourself with our menu and Japanese cuisine.
• Learn about beer, wine, and sake through beverage training and provide excellent cocktail service while guests wait for their table.
• Maintain awareness of pace of dining room and communicate with team to ensure smooth transitions during table turns.
• Review, plan, and execute table placement and preference for reservations, communicating guest notes with managers and servers.
• Build trust with guests and keep them updated while they wait for their table.
