Job summary

The Pittsburgh Improv is seeking Door Hosts to deliver a high-quality guest experience during live shows. You will manage the entrance, verify IDs, seat guests, and ensure the showroom operates smoothly with a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in restaurant/club settings, possess ServSafe and TIPS/LEAD certifications where required, and can work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Join a team that prides itself on humor and hospitality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent; some college preferred.
• 1–3 years in restaurant/club environment.
• ServSafe Food Handler and TIPS or LEAD certification as required by local regs.
• Friendly, outgoing with excellent communications skills.
• Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage entrance before, during and after performances.
• Check IDs to enforce age restrictions and liquor laws.
• Greet guests and seat them per seating process.
• Monitor showroom to prevent disruption and recording on cell phones.
• Assist management with removing unruly guests.
• Encourage safe transportation for intoxicated patrons when needed.
• Support teammates with daily tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.
