Job summary

The Post Oak in Galveston, TX is seeking a friendly Host to greet guests, guide them to tables, and present menus. You will maintain knowledge of daily specials and assist with seating and to-go orders, supporting servers during service.

Qualifications

• 1 year of restaurant experience preferred.
• Organizational skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Positive attitude.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask.
• Availability on weekdays, weekends, nights, mornings, and holidays.
• Must read and write in English and handle math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests as they arrive and maintain a positive first impression.
• Engage with guests, anticipate needs, and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Maintain knowledge of menu, specials, and promotions.
• Handle guest complaints professionally or escalate to the manager.
• Assist with running food, delivering and refilling drinks.
• Guide guests to tables and present menus.
• Take to-go orders over the phone and in person.
• Ensure guests are satisfied with food and service.
• Refill drinks and clear plates during dining.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Provide highchairs and other requested items.
• Comply with federal and state laws, including tip regulations and minimum wage requirements.
