Job summary

Mississippi Aquarium in Gulfport seeks a Part-Time Guest Experience Specialist to educate visitors about our exhibits and engage them with conservation messages. You will use public speaking to lead tours, sleepovers, presentations, and daily guest interactions, providing exceptional customer service to a diverse audience.

Working about 20 hours per week, you will join the Guest Experience and Education Team, support events, help with wayfinding, and help maintain displays.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1-year experience in a customer-service based role.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, and remain in one area for long blocks.
• Strong public speaking skills and a desire to work with the public.
• Comfortable in large crowds of people with diverse backgrounds and ages.

Responsibilities

• Educate guests about exhibits and conservation messages.
• Conduct tours, sleepovers, and public presentations.
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist with wayfinding.
• Open and close exhibits, monitor spaces.
• Attend meetings and trainings.
• Support special events and other programs.
• Represent Mississippi Aquarium positively with a service-oriented attitude.
