Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
  • 1–3 years of customer service, administrative, or general office experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; willingness to learn new technology.
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Follow safety regulations and SOPs.

Responsibilities

Position:Guest Experience Coordinator-Wayne County

Location: Orrville, OH

The Guest Experience Coordinator will serve as the leader of first impressions and plays a vital role in shaping how volunteers, guests, and community partners experience the Foodbank from their very first interaction. Primary responsibilities will include welcoming and directing volunteers and visitors to their appropriate locations; assisting volunteers to sign in and out; answering incoming calls and directing to the appropriate department; opening and distributing mail while routing gifts for processing to the appropriate staff at the Main Campus in Akron; ensuring the front desk is professional and well maintained to provide a welcoming experience for all guests and employees. A high degree of professionalism, courtesy, communication skills, punctuality, and dependability are essential for success in this position.

Shift: M-F, 8am-4pm. Salary range: $18-$22 per hour based on experience.

Schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm but will occasionally require scheduled time on weekends and/or evenings. Collaboration with other departments and a high degree of confidentiality, commitment, availability, flexibility, and dependability is essential for success in this position.

Works primarily at the Wayne Campus; floats to the Stark and Main campuses when warranted.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Welcome all volunteers and guests with friendliness and work collaboratively with other Foodbank staff to ensure everyone (neighbors, volunteers, vendors, network partners, outside groups, etc.) is met with an exceptional first impression and gold-star experience.
  • Assist with scheduling of volunteers, both individuals and groups, based on program requirements and limits. This includes any communication or special instructions before they volunteer.
  • Notify other Foodbank staff including the Executive Leadership Team to ensure appropriate parties are aware of special guests who may be volunteering or visiting.
  • Assist volunteers in the check in and out process through the volunteer software.
  • Ensure all visitors are signed in and out at the front desk and have access to lockers if necessary.
  • Greet and coordinate incoming vendors and deliveries.
  • Direct volunteers and guests to the appropriate area.
  • Assist in the maintenance of volunteer records and profiles utilizing the volunteer software system.
  • Maintain an organized and professional front desk and lobby area.
  • Assist the Volunteer and Guest Experience Supervisors and Manager with scheduling and coordinating Wayne Campus external group meetings and events.
  • Answer incoming calls to the Foodbank; handle calls with courtesy, speed and accuracy.
  • Respond to callers’ general Foodbank inquiries, and direct to the appropriate Foodbank department.
  • Make announcements to office and operations staff using appropriate tools including email, Teams, walkie-talkie, and PA system.
  • Enter data and prepare reports as assigned.
  • Open, date stamp, sort, and distribute mail daily.
  • In cooperation with Donor Services, receive financial and food donations, notifying appropriate departments.
  • Restock the lobby kiosk with informational materials, as needed.
  • Unlock and lock front entrance at the beginning and end of each day.
  • Act as an upstanding Foodbank representative in the community and work collaboratively with other Foodbank staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum High School Diploma required; some college, preferred.
  • 1-3 years of customer service, administrative, or general office required.
  • Commitment to outstanding customer service and problem solving; solutions oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be an enthusiastic professional who can work well with a diverse group of individuals.
  • High degree of interpersonal sensitivity and relationship building skills are required.
  • Ability to produce quality work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment.
  • Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and mail merges; email and web searches and a willingness/ comfort with learning new technology applications.
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to follow all American Institute of Baking, Feeding America, Food and Drug Administration, United States Department of Agriculture, Occupational Safety Hazard Administration, and Foodbank (standard operating procedures and employee handbook) safety regulations.
