Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak English and understand basic instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of the shift.

• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed foods with safety in mind.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during housekeeping duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces, utensils and equipment per QA standards.
• Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
• Follow local, state and federal regulations in Front-End operations.
• Adhere to company rules, safety requirements and security standards.
• Dress and groom per company policy including uniform and badge requirements.
• Use gloves when handling unpackaged foods and follow QA hand washing standards.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Operate the cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
• Identify and scan products under correct department when needed.
• Lift/pull/push/rotate merchandise up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Check prices and know item locations in the store.
• Process all forms of payment per company guidelines.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Bag customer orders safely and efficiently.
• Handle damaged or return-to-stock products per policy, prioritizing refrigerated items.
• Be familiar with products carried in the store, including produce.
• Stand at register for the shift duration; may exceed 8 hours.
• Follow shrink guidelines in Front-End operations.
• Follow HAZCOM program and label instructions for chemical products.
• Report equipment problems immediately and maintain department equipment.
• Complete applicable department trainings.
• Uphold ShopRite service priorities: Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, Efficiency.
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance; work overtime as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Must be 18+ to operate certain equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
