Job summary

Ojai Valley Inn is seeking a Busser to provide exemplary service in its restaurants. You will clear and reset tables, refresh drinks, and assist with setup and breakdown of the dining area, ensuring a smooth guest experience and high standards of service throughout shifts.

The role requires a positive, friendly personality, ability to communicate in English, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a hotel dining environment.

Qualifications

• Possess a positive, outgoing and friendly Personality.
• Ability to follow the OVI standards of Presentation.
• Ability to follow the OVI standards of Body Language.
• Ability to follow the OVI standards of Verbiage.
• Ability to work cohesively with other employees as part of a team.
• Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English Language.
• Ability to work a flexible workweek including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to communicate in English with guest/visitors, community contacts, industry contacts, management and co-workers to their understanding.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of The Ojai Valley Inn style, practices, culture, terminology, organizational structure, and general philosophy.
• Maintain a friendly yet unobtrusive manner with all guests throughout their dining experience.
• Attend all required meetings.
• Ensure all Human Resource policies and practices are applied consistently while adhering to laws.
• Promote teamwork and foster a harmonious working climate.
• Promote good public relations and handle complaints or concerns of guests.
• Recognize and address potential intoxicated, disruptive or undesirable guests.
• Properly handle and report employee guest accidents.
• Respond properly to any hotel emergency or safety situation.
• Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the Manager, resort management, and staff.
• Constantly monitor appearance, attitude and degree of professionalism to ensure adherence to standards.
• Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.
• Offer guests of the restaurant an enjoyable, expertly served beverage/dining experience.
