Job summary

Big Bad Breakfast in Louisville is looking for a friendly support staff member to join our dining team as host, busser or food runner. You’ll create a welcoming atmosphere, help seat guests, and support the service team to keep the dining area clean and efficient.

Starting pay is $12–$14 per hour plus tips, with opportunities for advancement. We offer flexible scheduling and a training-focused environment to help your hospitality career grow.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality with strong customer service.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with focus on cleanliness and safety.
• Reliable and punctual; open mornings, weekends, holidays.
• Hospitality experience preferred but training provided.
• Flexible hours, including nights and holidays.
• Able to carry items safely and handle equipment.
• Strong communication; follow written and spoken instructions.
• Capable of multitasking in a high-pressure setting.
• Able to work in tight spaces with variable noise/temperature.
• Stand/walk entire shift; lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet guests and manage the waitlist with professionalism and friendliness.
• Accurately quote wait times and communicate seating availability.
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus.
• Assist in answering phones, taking reservations, and handling to-go orders when needed.
• Clear, sanitize, and reset tables quickly and efficiently.
• Assist servers with delivering food, refilling drinks, and pre-bussing when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, host stand, and restrooms.
• Support overall team operations to keep service running smoothly.
