Job summary

Big Boy Restaurant Group in Troy, OH is hiring for an entry-level Team Member/Host role. You will create a welcoming dining experience, seat guests, inform guests about menu items and specials, and assist with carry-out orders to ensure smooth service.

You’ll support the team with beverages, salads and desserts while maintaining safety and clean standards. We seek friendly, reliable individuals who can stand for long periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Proficient reading, writing and comprehension of English.
• Good memory, math and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and guest-service focus.
• Able to work well in a team and adapt to busy shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provides fantastic first impressions and sets the tone for each guest’s dining experience.
• Seats guests promptly, introduces new menu items and informs about soups, specials and buffet.
• Answers guest questions and assists with additional needs (e.g., child booster chairs).
• Takes and processes carry-out orders inside the dining room or by phone.
• Assists the service team by preparing beverages, salads and desserts as needed.
• Maintains safety and sanitation standards in the restaurant and keeps the dining area clean.
• Handles cash-out transactions with guests and thanks them for dining with us.
• Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to uniform standards.
