Job summary

Defoor Hospitality Group in Chattanooga, Tennessee seeks a Maintenance Technician/Engineer to keep every aspect of the property in good repair and safe working order while delivering a high level of service to guests.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this non-exempt hourly role covers life-safety systems, pool and grounds upkeep, carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical tasks, plus routine repairs and safety compliance.

Qualifications

General knowledge in carpentry, drywalling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.

Responsibilities

Ensure all work orders are completed in a timely manner.
Adhere to brand standards for maintenance and safety.
Knowledge of life safety systems including fire alarm and evacuation procedures.
Tests and maintains pool and whirlpool per regulations.
Inspect and maintain outside grounds and facilities.
Repair furniture and structures such as cabinets, tables, chairs, windows, bed frames.
Painting and finishing of furniture and building.
Inspect and repair electrical systems in hotel equipment.
Service plumbing systems including pipelines and drains.
Maintain clean, professional work area and uniform.
Test life safety systems as directed.
Report issues promptly to management.
Maintain confidentiality of company information.
Communicate with guests in a friendly manner.
Do not make purchases without approved PO.
Report guest issues promptly.
Maintain professional appearance.
Recognize safety hazards and act accordingly.
