Job summary

ZMC Hotels in Tupelo, MS is seeking a friendly server to greet guests, take beverage and food orders, and deliver orders with care. You will work with bartenders and kitchen staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.

The role requires strong guest service, the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and the willingness to learn daily specials. Training in alcohol service and OSHA compliance is provided.

Qualifications

• Highly organized.
• Must be able to work the majority of the shift in a standing position, constantly moving, and able to lift 30 pounds.
• Strong guest service skills.
• Must have attention to detail and be customer service oriented.
• Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Promptly greet guests at tables, offer food menu, and inform them of the drink specials.
• Obtain the order and give to the kitchen for food preparation or bartender to mix drink, deliver order.
• Return to table periodically to make sure all needs are met, offer dessert.
• Present the check. When payment is offered return change and receipt to guest.
• Remove dirty dishes and linen as needed.
• Reset tables with clean china, linen, silver, glassware, utensils, condiments, and paper.
• Knowledge of menu prices and daily specials.
• Monitor snacks at tables.
• Empty, clean, and refill items as your side‑work duties describe.
• Maintain a clean uniform and personal appearance.
• Certified in Serving Alcohol with Care or a similar program.
• Successfully complete training of required OSHA programs.
• Knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures.
• All duties must be carried out in a safe manner.
• Be flexible and adaptable to the changes that will occur in your job.
• Employee must treat everyone with dignity and respect.
• Keep confidential the business functions of the company, including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, and employee issues.
