Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Financial Specialist to support Guardianship Options. You will coordinate with Guardians/Conservators to manage and report the financial affairs of vulnerable clients, maintaining documentation and preparing for audits.

The role requires an Associate's degree or two years of related experience, at least two years in accounting or bookkeeping, and proficiency with accounting software such as Great Plains, QuickBooks or TurboCash.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two years of related experience.
• Minimum two years of accounting, bookkeeping or customer service experience.
• Must complete National Guardianship Associations Finance Certificate Program after one year of service.
• Knowledge of accounting packages like Great Plains, QuickBooks or TurboCash.
• Financial management experience with asset and investment management preferred.
• Coordinating skills to manage 30–60 client financial records.
• Computer literacy, spreadsheets, word processing and basic budgeting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial documentation according to policy and present to auditors upon request.
• Document and bill service hours for each client following policy and procedures.
• Handle all finances for the client's estate, including paying bills and reconciling accounts.
