Job summary

Open Scientific is seeking a GT Clearance Engineer in West Palm Beach, Florida. This full-time role involves performing evaluations and leading the design of clearance control systems for gas turbines. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree, at least 10 years of experience in gas turbines, and strong design knowledge.

The position offers an A+ work environment at a globally recognized organization. Candidates with a Master’s degree and proficiency in computational modeling tools will be preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of successful experience in gas turbine.
• Minimum 5 years of successful experience in GT clearance.
• Experience in whole engine modeling and clearance control system design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform system level clearance evaluations using whole engine model including hot-to-cold conversion
• Lead design of clearance control system such as ACC, PCC or HCO
• Lead technical systems integration between various gas turbine component design teams
• Develop risk assessments (FMEA) and participate in root‑cause investigations for gas turbine systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Minimum 10 years of successful experience in gas turbine
• Minimum 5 years of successful experience in GT clearance
• Experience in whole engine modeling including axial and radial clearance evaluation, clearance control system design experience preferred
• Master’s degree in an engineering or science discipline from an accredited college or university
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Mechanical design and detailed design knowledge of gas turbines and their operation, hot gas component design experience preferred
• Proficiency in one or more computational modeling (CAE) tools such as Ansys, SC03, Abaqus, (NASTRAN, ProE, Unigraphics is plus, but not required)
• Demonstrated ability in working in a cross-cultural team involving members from all across the globe
