Job summary

Open Scientific is seeking a Senior GT Design Engineer to drive the development of the gas turbine layout and component integration.

You will lead cross‑discipline design work, perform system integration, issue BOMs, review sketches and 3D models, and conduct clearance calculations. 15+ years in gas turbine layout design and a Bachelor's in Engineering are required; a Master's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 15+ years of experience with gas/steam turbines.
• 15+ years of experience in gas turbine layout design.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as NX, CATIA, UG.
• DESIRED: Master's degree in Engineering.
• DESIRED: Mechanical design and gas turbine knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform the overall GT layout design with component layout design engineers.
• Lead technical systems integration between various gas turbine designs.
• Participate in risk assessments and root‑cause investigations for gas turbine systems.
• Issue and revise Engineering Bills of Materials.
• Prepare/review design sketches, layouts, schematics, 3D models and drawings as part of a design team.
• Perform necessary clearance calculations to ensure quality fit and function of turbine components.

- Perform the overall GT layout design with component layout design engineers

-Lead technical systems integration between various gas turbine designs

- Participate inrisk assessments and root-cause investigations for gas turbine systems

- Issue and revise Engineering Bills of Material

- Prepare/review design sketches, layouts, schematics, 3D models and drawings as part of a design team

- Perform necessary clearance calculations to ensure quality fit and function of turbine components

Qualifications

-Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university

- 15+ years of experience with gas/steam turbines

- 15+ years of experience in gas turbine layout design

- Highly proficient in one of more computational modeling/interactive graphic tools such as NX, CATIA, UG (NX preferred)

-(DESIRED) Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university

- (DESIRED) Mechanical design and detailed knowledge of gas turbines (hot gas component design experience preferred)
