Blue Origin in Seattle, WA invites entry-level GSE & Tooling Engineer to join our diverse engineering team. You will design tooling for Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn programs, contribute to fast-paced development, and support safe, repeatable spaceflight.

You will collaborate with mechanical designers, manufacturing and integration engineers, and help translate requirements into robust fixtures, test rigs, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design production, development, test, integration, and advanced manufacturing tooling for Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn programs

• Develop fixtures, material handlers, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machines
• Collaborate with component designers, manufacturing engineers, and integration engineering to optimize cradle-to-grave metrics (safety, cost, quality, cycle time, delivery)
• Manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, inspection, installation, testing, and commissioning of custom tooling

Please indicate in the application where you would be willing to be located.* Seattle, WA* Huntsville, AL* Cape Canaveral, FL **Responsibilities:*** Design production, development, test, integration, and advanced manufacturing tooling and equipment for the Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn business units.* Capable of integrating concepts and principles of mechanical design and analysis of several projects in a fast-paced environment -- projects will vary in size and scale.* Ability to interpret and apply sound design and drafting standards (ASME Y14.5) when creating drawings.* Handle a wide range of technical design challenges related to all types of assembly fixtures, material handlers, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machines.* Close collaboration with component designers, manufacturing engineers, and integration engineering to achieve the best possible cradle-to-grave metrics (safety, cost, quality, cycle time, delivery, reliability, life, and maintenance/refurbishment)* Manage projects, including vendor selection, fabrication, inspection, equipment installation, proof testing, and commissioning of custom tooling, with support.* Set, implement, and maintain schedules and budgets to ensure project completion. **Qualifications:*** Minimum of a BS Degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering field.* Will have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Fall 2026.* Basic understanding in the fundamentals of design (requirements identification, material selection, input definition, form factors, interface definition, environmental considerations, etc.)* Basic proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E preferred) including drawing creation.* Basic proficiency in strength and mechanics of materials.* Basic proficiency in structural analysis including Free-body diagrams, hand calculations, etc.* Basic understanding of Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS preferred).* Relevant internship/co-op and/or hands-on experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.* Flexible and adaptable mindset.* Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction. **Desired:*** Strong expertise in design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) including experience taking products from development design to rate production* Familiarity with design of mechanical equipment or systems.* Proven understanding of common manufacturing processes and machines such as CNC machining, manual mills and lathes, welding, sheet-metal bending, lifting/rigging, assembly, inspection, etc.* Familiarity with industry standards, such as ASME BTH-1, aluminum design manual, and AISC* Experience with custom machine design: motors, actuators, linear rails/actuators, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, etc.* Experience with Creo and Windchill CAD/PDM systems* Experience with NX and Teamcenter CAD/PDM systems* Experience with Analysis packages such as: ANSYS Workbench, FEMAP Pre/Post processing, NASTRAN Solver, NX Advance Simulation, etc.### Base Pay Range for:WA applicants is $81,313.00 - $113,837.85**Other site ranges may differ** **Culture Statement**Don’t meet all desired requirements?
