Job summary

Southwest Airlines is seeking a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to diagnose and repair airline ground equipment, including trucks, carts, and de-icing gear. The role involves hands-on maintenance, welding, painting, and ensuring safety standards are met to keep flights on schedule.

You will perform preventive maintenance, attend training, and update maintenance tracking programs. The position is part of a collective bargaining agreement with schedules based on seniority.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 3 years heavy truck/equipment repair with technical degree; 5 years in lieu of degree.
• Experience using a computer inventory tracking system.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair grounded equipment such as airline ground support gear.
• Perform preventative and unscheduled maintenance on GSE.
• Attend training and stay current on procedures, rules, and regs.
