Job summary

AAR Corp in San Antonio is seeking a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic II to perform inspections, routine and complex maintenance, and troubleshooting on ground support equipment used in daily operations. You will document repairs, follow technical orders, and ensure safety and quality while meeting labor-tracking requirements.

Additionally, you will assist with parts control, analyze failures, and mentor junior mechanics, contributing to process improvements and equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic principles.
• Five years’ experience with powered and non-powered maintenance shops.
• Know-how in automotive service, industrial repair or aerospace ground equipment.
• Proficient computer usage and ability to read drawings.
• Ability to troubleshoot with test equipment and interpret technical instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled/unscheduled inspections and maintenance on ground support equipment.
• Conducts operational checkouts and troubleshooting on assigned gear.
• Maintains paperwork and tracks labor hours per job.
• Follows technical orders, equipment manuals and safety standards.
• Maintains clean, safe work area and facilities.
• Assists other mechanics with parts acceptance/rejection per criteria.
• Analyzes failure modes and recommends repair plans.
• Mentors junior staff and shares knowledge with peers.
