Job summary

US Techs LLC is hiring a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic - Electrical Specialist for a full-time, on-site role at O'Hare International Airport. The position focuses on maintenance and repair of tractors and ramp equipment with emphasis on DC electrical systems and battery-electric GSE.

The ideal candidate has ASE A6 certification, 3+ years in GSE repair, and knowledge of 12V/24V/48V systems, plus the ability to pass TSA background checks and a drug screen.

Qualifications

• ASE Electrical/Electronic (A6) certification or equivalent.
• 3+ years GSE/heavy equipment repair experience.
• Experience with DC electrical systems (12V/24V/48V) and wiring.
• Hands-on with 12V/24V/48V DC systems, battery-electric GSE, and/or 400Hz GPUs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain baggage tractors, pushback tractors, belt loaders, and related GSE.
• Troubleshoot and repair 12V/24V/48V DC electrical systems, wiring harnesses, starters, and alternators.
• Service and repair battery-electric GSE, including charging systems and battery management.
• Maintain and troubleshoot GPUs and 400Hz ground power systems.
• Complete work orders, parts requisitions, and maintenance records on time.
• Respond to on-ramp equipment breakdowns in varied Chicago weather.
• Follow all lockout/tagout and ramp safety protocols.
