Job summary

Discord is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Growth team. You’ll work on how new users discover, understand, and get started with Discord, building experiences that scale from onboarding to activation across web and in-app flows.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Design, and Data Science to identify growth opportunities, write maintainable code, and run experiments that drive user engagement. This is a high-impact role reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager for Growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expertise in TypeScript and React for high-performance frontend work.
• Experience with Python backend frameworks and data-driven experiments.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize user-facing growth experiences for onboarding and activation.
• Develop scalable backend systems serving high-traffic content.
• Work across frontend (TypeScript, React) and backend (Python) wherever needed.
• Design and run A/B experiments to measure impact on acquisition.
