Job summary

Vallen Distribution is hiring a Warehouse Associate to receive, handle, stock, and dispatch goods in a distribution center. You will follow established procedures to ensure accurate inventory and timely shipments.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, attention to detail, teamwork, and basic computer skills. Overtime and varied shifts may apply in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year of relevant experience or training.
• Forklift/cherry picker experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work orders, and manuals.
• Basic computer skills and aptitude to learn MS Office, Vista, Control, SX.e, Prophet 21.

Responsibilities

• Completes shipments by processing and loading orders; reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved.
• Unloads, receives and puts away incoming goods and merchandise; checks for damage and discrepancies; may install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting.
• Sorts, labels, moves, and stores goods; places items on racks or bins according to codes; optimizes warehouse space.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution to ensure conformance to standards.
• Prepares, picks, packs, and dispatches outgoing goods; uses pick sheets to locate items; verifies product and quantity.
• Loads trucks for customer delivery; may install strapping to prevent shifting; checks for damage.
• Consolidates freight for shipping and communicates oversize loads to carriers; maintains shipping routes.
• Enters data into stock systems; responds to inquiries about inventory and delivery schedules; documents discrepancies.
• Operates warehouse equipment as needed (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) and assists in inventory counts.
