Job summary

Ace Retail Group is seeking a Staff Accountant in Overland Park, KS. You will support the accounting team with financial reporting, period close, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across general ledger activities.

Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries, analyzing accounts, and assisting auditors during the annual audit while driving process improvements and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required or 1-2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with JDE financial software and BI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform or monitor daily and monthly account reconciliations.
• Assist in the month-end close process, including journal entries and accruals.
• Compile and analyze financial information for general ledger and financial statements.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize account data and trends.
• Address financial statement questions via research and explanations.
• Support process improvements and cross-functional initiatives.
• Assist external auditors during the annual financial audit.
