Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a Kansas City area organization to hire a Staff Accountant for its corporate accounting team. This role aims to provide broad exposure to month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, audit support, and process improvement.

The Staff Accountant will work closely with accounting leadership and operating teams across the organization, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to ongoing process enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience.
• CPA (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly close process for corporate and affiliated entities.
• Prepare journal entries for accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, allocations and other accounting activity.
• Complete and review balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Research discrepancies, aging items, and unsupported account activity.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and recurring financial reporting.
• Support fixed asset and lease-related accounting activities.
