Job summary

Chief of Staff KC, a growth-focused manufacturing and distribution company in the KC Metro, seeks a Senior Accountant to own the month-end close and help grow into management. You’ll join a collaborative accounting team of five and drive GAAP reporting, process improvements, and cross-functional finance projects.

Primary duties include the full GL close, journal entries, reconciliations, budgeting support, and a path toward leadership within the next one to two years, with strong compensation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with full GL close exposure preferred.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and GL accounting fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and GAAP reporting.
• Manage general ledger activities and ensure accuracy across entities.
• Identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting and support ad hoc analysis.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting initiatives.
• Support a culture of continuous improvement within a small accounting team.
