Job summary

Lincoln Property Company in Dallas, Texas, is seeking a Property Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of commercial real estate, preparing financial statements and reconciliations in line with GAAP and client requirements.

The role requires 2–4 years of CRE or accounting experience, proficiency with Yardi or MRI, and strong Excel skills, along with the ability to work with property managers to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2–4 years of property accounting or general accounting experience; CRE experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and basic real estate accounting concepts.
• Proficiency in Yardi, MRI, or similar property management accounting software; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle monthly accounting close for an assigned portfolio of commercial real estate properties, including journal entries, reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis reports for assigned properties.
• Record and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and rent receipts in the property management system.
• Prepare CAM reconciliations in accordance with lease terms and property management agreements.
• Ensure GAAP-compliant revenue recognition at the property level.
• Assist in annual property budgets and reforecasts.
• Coordinate with property managers to obtain documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Support year-end audit preparation with workpapers and schedules.
• Assist with onboarding and setup of new properties in the accounting system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
