Job summary

WHYY in Philadelphia seeks a Digital Membership & Engagement Specialist to develop and execute digital communications that grow membership, support, and fundraising across WHYY and its properties.

Working within a collaborative team, you’ll translate audience engagement strategies into email, SMS, newsletters, automated journeys, websites, mobile apps, push notifications, and social channels, while maintaining data quality and compliance with privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in communications, marketing, journalism, nonprofit management, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in digital membership, fundraising, marketing, communications, audience engagement, or related field.
• Experience executing email or multichannel campaigns through a CRM or marketing automation platform is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership to shape digital membership, fundraising, stewardship, and audience engagement strategies and campaigns.
• Execute coordinated digital membership, fundraising, stewardship, and audience communications using approved plans.
• Write, edit, build, segment, test, and deploy emails, SMS, newsletters, journeys, and other digital content.
• Support member lifecycle from acquisition to renewal and deeper giving.
• Develop communications that connect audiences with WHYY's journalism, programs, events, and community impact.
