Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years’ experience in commercial lending.
• Strong knowledge of credit analysis/underwriting processes and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong negotiation skills.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Promotes a positive work environment.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment where changes to procedures are common.

Responsibilities

• Manages commercial customer relationships by identifying financial needs, delivering solutions, and providing excellent customer service.
• Develops new and existing deposit and credit customer relationships through networking, cross-selling opportunities, and referrals.
• Collaborates with Branch Managers, Treasury Services, and Market Executives to cultivate full-service banking relationships.
• Achieves and exceeds goals in loans, deposits, fee income, and referrals through proactive business development strategies.
• Manages transaction processes from initial contact through close, including client needs assessment, proposal development, credit analysis, underwriting, and documentation.
• Drives community presence through networking events, promotional activities, and strategic partnerships.
• Maintains extensive knowledge of BayFirst’s financial products and services to provide tailored solutions that meet diverse client needs and drive long-term relationship growth.
• Manages portfolio performance by requesting and reviewing annual financial statements and covenant ticklers; performing site visits; and monitoring loan quality, deposit growth, and fee income to ensure profitability and minimize risk.
• Serves as the commercial banking expert for the regional market.
