Job summary

The Save Mart Companies in Oakley, CA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for the Lucky-2545 Main St. location to partner with the Store Manager and lead all daily store operations. You will oversee inventory, labor, training, and customer service while ensuring compliance with company policies.

You will develop work schedules, hire and coach team members, and drive store profitability. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and operational acumen in a fast-paced grocery

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education or certification (i.e., RMCP) or equivalent grocery retail experience
• Minimum of two years of management/leadership experience is required
• Experience overseeing front-end operations and driving store performance is preferred

Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees all aspects of day-to-day store operations in partnership with the Store Manager
• Develops and implements weekly work schedules for team members to optimize labor efficiency
• Leads hiring, training, and development of store staff
• Manages front-end operations and cash handling
• Monitors inventory, product quality, and date integrity; collaborates with vendors and warehouses as needed
• Ensures compliance with sanitation, safety, and company policies; supports regulatory inspections
• Drives customer focus and ensures excellent customer service through staff accountability
• Analyzes sales and profitability; supports achieving budgeted labor goals and store-wide sales targets
