Applegreen is seeking an Assistant General Manager in Sayreville, NJ to support the General Manager in daily operations. This role offers an entry-level management path to learn essential supervisory and discretionary decision-making skills in a fast-paced travel plaza environment.

You will lead a team across shifts, ensure high-quality guest experiences, and maintain brand standards while focusing on cash control, inventory accuracy, and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and management skills with proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills with a sharp business acumen.
• 2+ years experience in quick service restaurant or similar management operations.
• Basic food safety understanding and practice.
• Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 Lbs.
• Flexible and open work schedule.
• Passionate about helping people learn and grow the business.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork and communicate business objectives clearly.
• Oversee day-to-day supervision of non-management staff and develop shift supervisors.
• Stand-in for the general manager as needed.
• Motivate staff, especially during low morale periods.
• Maintain leadership and organizational standards; address issues promptly.
