Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Corporate Development Director to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and execute strategic acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures to enhance financial performance and capabilities.

You will coordinate valuations, due diligence, and risk assessment while leading the Corporate Development team and interfacing with senior leadership and boards. Strong energy industry experience and outstanding negotiation and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical or financial field; MBA preferred.
Ten years’ experience in acquisitions and divestitures or equivalent corporate development.
Skilled negotiator with strong communication skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Financial analysis and modeling capability.
Knowledge of tax, accounting, legal, and HR issues related to transactions.
Ability to lead and interact with all organizational levels.
Experience in or knowledge of the energy sector.
Willing to work additional hours and travel overnight.

Responsibilities

Lead the Corporate Development team and negotiate multiple large, complex transactions.
Assess opportunities for acquisitions, divestitures, or joint ventures for financial and strategic fit.
Coordinate due diligence, valuations, and risk assessments of opportunities.
Develop investment strategies and business cases for new opportunities.
Support regulatory approvals and prepare materials for leadership and Board.
