Job summary

FALK Panel in Walker, MI seeks a Project Services Manager to lead the Estimating and Project Management department from quote to production handoff. The role emphasizes coaching, growth planning, and expanding technology adoption, including AI tools, to scale operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field is required or equivalent experience.
5+ years in estimating, project management, or related construction/building products role; 2+ years in people management.
Experience building or improving business processes at scale.
Experience championing or implementing new technology/software (ERP, CRM, AI tools).
Strong understanding of pre-engineered metal building or insulated metal panel construction preferred.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to coach, develop, and hold team members accountable.
Autonomy in creating and driving initiatives with minimal oversight.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; comfort with ERP/CRM systems (Business Central preferred).

Responsibilities

Directly manage and develop Estimators/Inside Sales and Project Managers across tiers.
Create individualized growth plans and track progress.
Conduct coaching sessions focused on skill-building and company culture.
Own onboarding and training for new staff; ensure understanding of roles and processes.
Evaluate promotions based on competency and performance.
Set and review individual and team performance goals; conduct reviews.
Foster a collaborative, high-communication culture across departments.
Hire, train, and, when needed, manage out personnel in the estimating and PM department.
Own and improve departmental processes; scale with company growth.
Develop standard takeoff and quoting processes for estimators.
Implement audits for quotations and shop drawings; ensure timeliness and accuracy.
Manage production file creation and audit processes.
Set KPIs and report monthly; benchmark financially.
Lead truckload optimization and ensure it is applied across processes.
Review vendor invoices; manage drafting/detailing vendor expectations.
Identify process efficiencies and implement AI tools and automation.
Develop, adopt, and optimize ERP/CRM systems (Business Central or successor).
Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering, and Customer Service.
Support Sales with complex technical selling; join tandem calls as needed.
Provide technical assistance and product recommendations to Sales and customers.
Communicate across departments to keep quotes and projects on schedule.
Promote Falk Panel's mission and values throughout the team.
