Job summary

Leeds Professional Resources is expanding its accounting team and seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to work closely with the Controller. The role supports the close process and delivers accurate financial reporting as the business grows.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, and ERP-driven process improvements, with a focus on accuracy, timelines, and cross-entity collaboration. Strong Excel and NetSuite experience are required, along with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
• ERP experience required; NetSuite preferred.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, process improvements, ERP implementations, and audit support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, depreciation, and other accounting activity.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigate variances, and maintain supporting schedules.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close, financial statements, and management reporting.
• Review AP/AR activity, resolve discrepancies, and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Improve accounting procedures, documentation, automation, and internal controls.
• Participate in ERP and finance process improvement initiatives.
• Prepare audit schedules and support tax, banking, insurance, and other reporting requests.
• Assist the Controller with financial analyses and special projects.
