Job summary

Nopak, a fluid power leader in the Greater Milwaukee Area, is hiring a Buyer at our Franklin, WI facility. You will own purchasing and procurement, manage supplier relations, and align orders with the production schedule.

We value reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to cost reduction. The ideal candidate has an associate degree in supply chain or related field, strong communication, and Excel skills to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Requires an Associate’s degree in supply chain, operations, or related field.
Must display a strong “sense of urgency” and a “can do” approach, while also possessing a passion for reducing costs.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with employees and management.
Intermediate level of Microsoft Excel knowledge.
Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task on a daily basis.
Computer skills necessary – accuracy & attention to detail a must.

Responsibilities

Issue PO’s based on shortage report and planning worksheet, and shop floor needs.
Follow up with suppliers and vendors.
Lead on new supplier search and procurement projects with engineering and operations teams.
Update item cards with changes in lead time or safety stock.
Communicate with vendors on order acknowledgements, on-time/late deliveries, and discrepancies.
Coordinate expedited materials to align with production schedule.
Coordinate, plan and process outside sub-contract work.
Identify gaps in the supply chain and work to close them with dual suppliers where necessary.
