Job summary

UPMC seeks a Medical Assistant for Magee Services at Northwest in Franklin, PA. The role is based primarily in Franklin with travel to the Clarion office to support staffing needs, Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm with no evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities include back and front office duties: triage, blood draws, patient vitals, injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, charting, and basic procedures. OB/GYN and Epic experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required.
• Licensure/certifications: BLS/CPR, Act 33 with renewal, Act 34 with renewal, Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.

Responsibilities

• Send/receive patient records per HIPAA and regulations.
• Obtain lab/x-ray reports and other documents; schedule appointments; verify insurance and demographics.
• Prepare and manage charts; maintain infection control; manage inventory of supplies.
• Assist with patient flow, take vitals, collect specimens, and support exam procedures.
• Support front office tasks and patient education as directed.
