Job title and salary will be based on qualifications and career ladder requirements.
Shift/Hours: Monday‑Friday. Shifts can start anywhere from 6:30 am‑7:30 am and go until 3:00 pm‑4:00 pm. No weekends or holidays. Hours may be adjusted for department/scheduling needs. Potential travel to our Lebanon Church Road office to assist when needed.

Responsibilities
- Check schedules and organize patient flow.
- Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms.
- Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, and preparing for exam.
- Collect patient information and history, take vitals, and perform screenings per provider guidelines.
- Relay instructions to patients and families.
- Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance.
- Comply with HIPAA and other state and federal regulations.
- Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment according to department protocol.
- Clean exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.
- Clean according to the scheduled maintenance program and keep appropriate records.
- Manage inventory of supplies; restock exam/procedure rooms.
- Comply with the requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Comply with all UPMC Health System policies and procedures.
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level‑one labs.
- Perform clinic procedures according to policy and procedure.
- Assist physicians with procedures.
- Document patient information into the medical record.
- Answer calls and provide pertinent information, including patient education as directed.
- Obtain lab/x‑ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.
- Complete forms and requisitions as needed.
- Schedule appointments.
- Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics.
- Prepare and manage charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately.
- Other front‑office responsibilities, as required.
- Under the direction and supervision of a physician, administer injectable medication and vaccines when appropriate.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic, and treatment room responsibilities.
- Previous medical assistant and/or direct patient care experience highly preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances
- CPR required (AHA standards) within 30 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal.
- Act 33 with renewal.
- Act 34 with renewal.
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
