Job summary

A well-established manufacturing company in Grand Rapids, Michigan is seeking an Assistant Controller. This full-time position involves month-end closing, generating financial reports, and implementing accounting procedures. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, over 5 years of experience in accounting, and strong technical and analytical skills. Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in accounting.
• Manufacturing industry experience highly preferred.
• CPA or MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Month-end and quarter-end closing activities.
• Generate financial reports for senior leadership.
• Implement accounting procedures and improve operational efficiencies.
• Monitor and analyze balance sheets, accounts payable and receivable.
• Perform journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and invoicing.
• Assist the Controller with budgeting and forecasting.
• Help ensure completion of SOX requirements.
• Inventory accounting including cycle counts and physical inventory.
• Other special projects as needed.
