Job summary

KIPP Baltimore seeks a Senior Director of Development & External Affairs to lead fundraising, external partnerships, and brand strategy. This executive role collaborates with the Executive Director to drive philanthropic revenue and long-term impact for students and families.

Responsibilities include building major gifts pipelines, overseeing operations (including Salesforce), engaging donors and boards, and shaping communications and public partnerships to advance education equity in Baltimore

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of progressive leadership in development, advancement, education administration, nonprofit management, or public affairs.
• Proven record of securing and stewarding major gifts and institutional grants.
• Experience leading multi-functional teams and strategic planning processes.
• Exceptional communication and political acumen.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for serving as an ambassador for KIPP Baltimore’s students, alumni, staff, and community.
• Deep belief in educational equity and the mission of KIPP Baltimore.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and execution to meet annual philanthropic revenue goals and multi-year capital campaigns.
• Develop and manage major gifts and institutional giving pipelines; cultivate donors.
• Oversee development operations, including gift processing, data management (Salesforce), and grant reporting.
• Partner with the Executive Director to position leaders and volunteers for cultivation and solicitation activities.
• Represent KIPP Baltimore in civic and community spaces to build relationships and visibility.
• Collaborate across departments to design compelling donor and volunteer engagement experiences.
