Job summary

Motivo, a project-based engineering firm in the United States, is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive new client growth across automotive, industrial automation, aerospace/defense, and AgTech markets.

You will lead a nimble growth team (marketing and outbound) and partner with internal Product Management to convert opportunities into active engagements, while representing Motivo at major industry events and developing compelling ROM-style cost estimates for proposals.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive, robotics, agtech, industrial automation, or aerospace.
• 5+ years in roles blending account management or project management with engineering services.
• Strong ability to discuss complex technology with startups and enterprise leaders.
• Ability to map client objectives to Motivo capabilities and articulate value.
• Highly organized and data-driven with a results-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Lead a growth team including marketing and outbound roles to run quarterly campaigns.
• Own sourcing, qualification, and win-rate targets for new partnerships.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to align capabilities with client needs.
• Develop ROM-like cost estimates and craft compelling client narratives.
• Represent Motivo at national industry events and conferences.
• Maintain CRM-driven forecasts and capture rates.
